ABOUT US

North Wales Music Tuition Centres is (we believe) the oldest and largest professional Music Tuition School in North Wales.  We our proud of our professional service, friendly tutors, administrators, instrument loan scheme and exam and performance opportunities.

We currently operate 7 Tuition Centres located in 6 counties of North Wales providing instrumental and singing tuition to people of all ages, levels and abilities. We also offer online lessons across the UK. Many NWMTC Students have gone on to Universities and Academies or are carving out a career in teaching and/or performance.

We understand that it can be frustrating trying to find a personal tutor for yourself or your child, and here at NWMTC we listen closely and sympathetically to all of your requirements. In so doing, we take away the hassle of you having to find the right tutor with the right qualities.  We pride ourselves in finding the right fit for you.

Our tutors are selected for their qualifications, expertise and friendliness, to provide our students with the best musical education possible. They are all subject to background checks and are required to be DBS Certified.

The initial free consultation and 4 lesson 'Trial Period' along with our instrument loan scheme (if required) allows students to take the time as to whether or not the subject choice is right for them before committing longer term.

It isn't just about the learning though - being a musician is much more than that - so we have a holistic view that allows the opportunities to take exams and perform in concerts, that encourage and nurture the students' overall musicianship and confidence.  Why not apply now and get started?  Click the Apply for Lessons button above.

Our History

North Wales Music Tuition Centres was established in 1989 by the Founders as Colwyn Music Studios and was based in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. Later a second Tuition Centre was opened at Rhuddlan, near Rhyl, Denbighshire and the organisation was renamed to North Wales Music Tuition. Six years later in the year 2000 the 3rd centre was opened at Garden City (near Queensferry) Flintshire.  This Centre relocated to Buckley (Flintshire) in January 2020.

On October 4th, 2002, the organisation was successful in becoming a registered Charitable Unincorporated Association and in April 2014 was upgraded to a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

In November 2009, a 4th Centre was acquired in Wrexham and formally opened in January, 2010 followed by our Abergele Centre which opened in Spring 2013. In May 2022 we opened our 6th Studio Centre in Weston Rhyn, Oswestry on the Welsh border. (Very close to Chirk)

Our latest centre is in Bangor, Gwynedd which opened in May 2023.

OUR MISSION  STATEMENT AND CHARITY OBJECTIVES

"To advance Education in Music in particular through the provision of Music Tuition Studio Centres, Training and Public Performance"

In accord with our Charity's Objectives above, our services and facilities are being constantly upgraded and developed by our volunteer Board of Trustees and we have plans to open new premises in areas and communities which are not yet covered by our existing Centres.

Our Trustees offer their skills, expertise and experience in order to help nurture, foster and cultivate in the young generations  (and older ones)  a lifelong love of the fine and noble art of music-making in all its many guises, formats, styles and genres, and also in order to help give a thorough and professional service to our students, supporters, and Associate Members (Parents, Grandparents and Guardians registered with the Charity) and the Towns and Communities  wherever the Charity is currently established and serving.
