Membership Subscriptions / Tutors Fees
Based on a 30 min lesson, tutors currently charge between £7 to £10 and there is an expected membership subscription to the Charity of £3 per week.
Tutorial fees are paid directly to our tutors by the pupil. Memb subs are paid separately to the Charity.
All pupils start with a 'Trial' of 4 lessons payable in advance, after which payment is usually quarterly (the memb subs being £39 per full Quarter of 13 weeks and paid by Standing Order).
Standard lesson duration is 30 mins for beginners.
Adults and improvers may wish to take 40 mins or longer. (The cost of the lessons and memb subs being adjusted pro rata).
What does membership entitle me to?
Eligibility to access the Centre buildings and to use its facilities and services, equipment etc. Also free admission to all concerts and other events which take place during your term of membership.
What does my subscription pay for?
As the Charity receives no ongoing Government funding it needs the support of its members. Tutors support the Charity by working at a considerably reduced rate in order to keep the overall cost to the pupil at a reasonable rate. Membership subscriptions are necessary in order to pay for the general running and maintenance costs of our 4 Centre premises (ie. utility bills and rents, office supplies and administration).
Some less obvious items included in running costs are:
* Replacement studio accessories and equipment
* Centre improvements and modifications
* Concert Hall, Meeting venue and Equipment Hire
* Performing Rights Society charges
* Advertising
* Insurance (including Centre buildings, studio equipment, public liability)
* Caretakers' and Wardens' fees
* Centre cleaning charges
* Subscriptions to various allied Charitable organisations
* Accountancy
* Legal costs
* Travel expenses
* Office equipment maintenance & repair
* Postage, carriage, etc.
